The biggest and most important update is the extended availability of a six-foot bed in the Crew Cab. While the long bed was previously available only in the SV trim, it has now been added to the SV, Pro-4X and SL grades as well. This means that only the base S and top-tier Hardbody trims will be deprived of it. This change will provide more options for customers who want more carrying capacity.
The tow rating of every trim of the Frontier has also been increased. Now each trim is capable of pulling about 500 pounds more than before. This takes the maximum capacity to 7,150 pounds, up from 6,640 pounds before.
The new look most clearly visible on the Pro-4X in the press shots is a newly designed grille above the black crosspiece, which replaces the body-color crosspiece. Also, there is a tweaked design for the front intakes that now connect to the fog lamps below. At the rear, the Pro-X and Pro-4X have new tailgate finishers, and a new Afterburn Orange exterior color has been added to the Pro trims, as well as a new 17-inch wheel design.
Some significant improvements have been made to the interior. All trims now include a smoother gauge cluster with a tilt and telescoping wheel. All trims except the base S trim have a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which makes the truck's interior look more modern and premium. The Pro and SL trims also include a four-way power passenger seat. SL trim
