Pagani has introduced the new Utopia Roadster, which not only embodies stunning design and performance but is also the epitome of technical excellence. True to its name, the roadster offers a "Utopia" experience, featuring a twin-turbo V12 engine and seven-speed stick shift.
The Utopia Roadster was designed from the ground up to come in both coupe and roadster body styles, giving it a unique and striking look. The roadster weighs 2,822 pounds, the same as the coupe, and this was achieved by using more than 40 formulations of advanced composite materials. Materials like Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax have played a key role in making this car light and strong.
The Roadster has a 6.0-liter V12 engine built by Mercedes-AMG, which delivers 864 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. This engine powers the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual transmission, which provides an amazing driving experience. Pagani has clearly stated that there is no heavy battery or hybrid system, just the wonderful roar of the V12 engine.
The steering wheel of the Roadster is a piece of art, made from a 94.8-pound metal block by a milling machine working for 28 hours. It weighs only 3.5 pounds and its manufacturing process leaves behind 90 pounds of metal recycled in other industries. In addition, the Roadster has Cyber Tire technology developed by Pirelli, which provides information about road conditions to the car's driving aids.
The Pagani Utopia Roadster is offered with a wide range of customization options, with buyers able to choose from a variety of interior colors and materials. Each Roadster comes with two matching suitcases, which fit neatly into compartments on either side of the engine.
The Pagani Utopia Roadster will premiere during Monterey Car Week in August 2024. Production is limited to 130 units and is priced at €3.1 million (about $3.3 million).
